Remote DSP Tuning Pricing

Professional remote DSP tuning allows your system to be measured and optimized without traveling to Total Tuning USA. Choose a full-service rental package or use your own JL Audio MAX measurement system.

Full-Service Rental Tuning

Full-service rental tuning includes the required JL Audio MAX measurement equipment, insured shipping to you, and a prepaid return shipping label.

Non-rental appointments follow the same professional tuning process as full-service rental appointments. The lower price reflects the removal of rental-kit shipping, equipment handling, maintenance, and replacement costs.

You are responsible for having a complete and functional JL Audio MAX setup, all required cables, a compatible computer, and the appropriate DSP software available before your appointment.

What Is an Active Tuning Channel?

An active tuning channel is an independently processed DSP output that requires its own tuning adjustments.

Channel count is based on DSP outputs, not the number of physical speakers or amplifiers in the vehicle.

For example, a left tweeter and right tweeter using separate DSP outputs count as two active tuning channels.

Contact Total Tuning USA before purchasing if you are uncertain about your system’s channel count.

What Your Tuning Service Includes

Your appointment includes:

• Review and verification of your DSP signal routing
• Crossover configuration and optimization
• Output-level adjustment
• Time-alignment and delay optimization
• Individual channel equalization
• System-wide tonal-balance optimization
• Soundstage and imaging optimization
• Remote computer connection and DSP programming
• Final listening session to confirm system operation and results
• Setup instructions and supporting video guides

The tuning service covers DSP configuration and acoustic optimization. It does not include physical installation, wiring repair, equipment replacement, fabrication, or correction of mechanical problems.

Rental Equipment Security Deposits

Rental equipment requires a refundable security-deposit authorization.

Current authorization amounts are:

• JL Audio MAX rental kit: $3,500
• Rental laptop: $400
• JL Audio VXi HUB: $100
• SMD DD-1: $100

These amounts are not additional service charges. They are temporary authorization holds used to protect the equipment while it is in your possession.

A credit card is strongly recommended. Using a debit card may temporarily reduce the available funds in your bank account by the full authorization amount.

The authorization will be released after all equipment is returned on time, complete, undamaged, and passes inspection.

Your bank or card issuer controls how quickly the available credit or funds are restored after the authorization is released.

Charges may apply if equipment is:

• Damaged
• Missing components
• Improperly packed
• Returned late
• Lost while in the customer’s possession
• Not returned

All rental terms are explained in the equipment-rental agreement provided before shipment.

Shipping

Full-service rental pricing includes:

• Insured outbound shipping within the contiguous United States
• Protective shipment in a Pelican case
• A prepaid return shipping label

Customers must repack the equipment in the original case using the provided packaging materials.

Pricing for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, and other international destinations must be approved separately before purchase.

Carrier delays are outside the direct control of Total Tuning USA. If a shipping delay affects your appointment, Total Tuning USA will work with you to reschedule.

How the Process Works

1. Select Your Service

Choose the service that matches:

• Your DSP platform
• Whether you need a rental kit
• Your total number of active tuning channels

Contact Total Tuning USA before purchasing if you are unsure which option applies to your system.

2. Schedule Your Appointment

After purchase, you will receive an email containing a link to the online scheduling calendar.

Select an available appointment time that works for you.

3. Complete the Rental Agreement

For full-service rental appointments, you will receive an equipment-rental agreement approximately one week before your scheduled appointment.

You must complete the agreement and submit the required equipment-deposit authorization before the rental kit can be shipped.

4. Receive and Prepare the Equipment

Rental equipment is shipped in a protective Pelican case.

Setup instructions and links to supporting videos will be provided by email.

Review the instructions and complete as much of the setup as possible before your appointment. Begin your final setup at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

5. Complete the Remote Tuning Appointment

At your scheduled appointment time, Total Tuning USA will contact you to confirm that your vehicle, computer, DSP, and measurement equipment are ready.

Once everything is confirmed, Total Tuning USA will connect to your computer remotely and begin the tuning process.

Most properly prepared systems are completed in approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Please reserve up to 3 hours for the appointment.

Actual tuning time depends on:

• Channel count
• DSP platform
• Signal-routing complexity
• OEM integration
• Computer and software performance
• System condition
• Customer preparation
• Troubleshooting requirements

The three-hour appointment window is not a guarantee that an improperly installed, malfunctioning, or incomplete system can be fully corrected during the appointment.

6. Complete the Final Listening Session

After measurements and tuning are complete, the microphones will be removed.

A final listening session of approximately 20 minutes will then be completed to verify:

• Tonal balance
• Soundstage placement
• Imaging
• Speaker integration
• Bass integration
• Overall system operation

Minor adjustments may be made during this session when appropriate.

7. Return the Rental Equipment

Rental equipment must be repacked in the original Pelican case and handed to the return carrier no later than the next business day after your appointment.

Use the prepaid return label provided with the rental kit.

Keep the carrier receipt until Total Tuning USA confirms that the equipment has been received and inspected.

Returned equipment is normally inspected within two business days of delivery. The security-deposit authorization will be released after the equipment passes inspection.

Computer and Software Requirements

JL Audio VXi and MVi Systems

You will need:

• A compatible Windows PC or Mac
• A stable internet connection
• TeamViewer
• JL Audio TuN software
• Available USB connections for the required equipment

Non-JL DSP Systems

You will need:

• A compatible Windows computer
• A stable internet connection
• TeamViewer
• The manufacturer’s DSP software
• JL Audio TuN software
• Available USB connections for the required equipment

Non-JL DSP tuning is Windows-only unless Total Tuning USA approves another configuration in advance.

Install and open all required software before your appointment.

Customer Readiness Requirements

Before the appointment, the system must be fully installed and capable of operating safely.

You are responsible for confirming that:

• The DSP and amplifiers power on normally
• All intended speakers produce sound
• No amplifier or processor is in protection mode
• The system does not have unresolved wiring faults
• The vehicle has adequate battery voltage
• Your computer can connect to the internet
• All required software is installed
• You have the required login credentials and software access
• The vehicle and equipment are accessible for the entire appointment

Do not assume that installation or signal problems can be corrected during the tuning appointment.

Troubleshooting may use part or all of the reserved appointment time. A system that is not ready may need to be rescheduled, and additional charges may apply.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Contact Total Tuning USA as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Appointments changed after a rental kit has shipped may require additional shipping charges.

Missed appointments, incomplete preparation, unavailable vehicles, incompatible computers, software-access problems, or systems that are not operational may require a new appointment and additional payment.

The complete cancellation, rescheduling, equipment-return, and damage policies are provided during checkout and in the rental agreement.
