Total Array
The Total Array is the finished microphone array system used by Total Tuning for every JL Audio MAX™ tune. This is not a collection of loose accessories or a generic microphone holder—it is the complete, ready-to-use array configuration developed around our own professional tuning workflow.
Every component has been selected, engineered, or produced to improve the MAX measurement experience. The system starts with an extremely high-quality sandblasted metal microphone array, chosen for its rigidity, finish, and long-term durability. The microphones are protected by engineered two-piece guards designed to reduce excessive bending and strain at the cable connection, helping protect one of the most vulnerable areas of the MAX microphones during repeated setup and use.
The array mounts to a high-quality base designed, printed, and assembled in-house by Total Tuning. The base provides a stable platform while retaining the flexibility needed for different vehicles, seating positions, and measurement scenarios.
Most importantly, Total Array uses the same microphone arrangement and positioning that Total Tuning uses in our own tuning process. The array configuration was refined to provide a more natural representation of the listening environment across a wider variety of seating positions, giving the tuner a consistent and repeatable foundation for measurement and DSP optimization.
Everything required to complete the setup is included, including the necessary gooseneck mounting components. There is no need to source additional hardware, experiment with microphone placement, or build your own mounting solution.
Simply install the Total Array on your MAX system and begin measuring with the same array configuration used by Total Tuning.
